We watched this coyote sitting in the snow for about ten minutes when he took two giant leaps, stuck his head in the snow and came up with a mouse. I photographed this using a 400mm lens with a 1.4x multiplier. It is amazing that these animals can hear rodents under the snow and pinpoint their exact location from over 10 feet away.
