This is another photo at the hot springs terrace. I don't know how to describe it. The snow on the gold colored rock almost seems to be a light source. The dead tree is the only recognizable object. The rising steam creates an interesting mood. I commented to a friend that this should be the picture on the cover of Dante's "Inferno". To add to the mood, notice the ghostly human profile created by the steam in the upper right thirds postiion.
