The Devil's Kettle
The Devil's Kettle on Minnesota's North Shore is a remarkable place. The Brule River splits, half of it flowing to Lake Superior and the other half falls into a pot hole. Nobody knows where the water ends up, despite many attempts to find out. This is a "must see" on the North Shore. It is a rather strenuous hike from the parkig area. The hike is about a mile and a half, most of it is uphill. Near the falls, there is a wooden stairway with 232 steps down to the river It is an easy walk down but the return up the stairs is demanding.
