False Dayflower
Fading bluebonnets don't mean the end of wildflower season in Texas. I found this False Dayflower in Georgetown, near the San Gabriel River. It is amazing in its intricacies. The flower is about an inch wide.
I photographed this one with my 180mm macro lens at f-11; an aperture that kept the entire flower in focus while creating a nicely blurred background.
